A solid video by timmckee cutting it up.
Watch, and listen.
I've added a new maker to the directory: Bare Bones Ice in Sydney Australia. Their website is slim, but their instagram account is where it's at. You can follow along at home!
The guys over at Lake Boone Ice here in Mass were nice enough to stay open until 1:30pm (they normally close at noon) to give me time to get out there and grab a few blocks. Heading to a party tonight, and I have to bring the ice!
I cam across this amazing animated demonstration from Studio Neat about the difference between how normal ice freezes (outside in) and how clear ice freezes (directional), and how that makes all the difference you know and love.

I actually own a Studio Neat ice kit. It was given to me as a gift, and it started my entire obsession!
Edinburgh Ice Company makes this look good. This is almost how it looks in my kitchen, but without the blow torch. I'm going to have to get a blow torch.
While many of us are buying our clear ice from different vendors around the world, or making it yourself in a fancy clinebell, up in Maine they keep history alive by pulling clear ice right out of a lake. Give it a look!
the new T-shirts are up! You can buy them with actual money. Every T-shirt purchased helps raise awareness for clear ice everywhere. Do your civic duty!
If you haven't checked out the Maker directory, please do! One of the makers in the directory is JustIce based in Chicago. They have a great video up about the entire business of making, cutting, and serving clear ice. It is worth a couple minutes!
The video was created by Crane's Chicago Business
Some of us are cutting ice in our own freezers. Some of us are cutting it on our kitchen counter... but no one makes it look as good as Hidetsugu Ueno, cutting clear ice, by hand, in his gorgeous bar Bar High FIve. When friends ask me about clear ice, I have them watch this video to set the mood.
Welcome to the show!
